Ron and I joined the rest of family in Playa del Carmen, Mexico for Aaron and Cristina's wedding. It was a great week and an absolutely beautiful wedding. I love weddings. They are all so unique. This one was breathtaking. The ceremony was a traditional Catholic Mass in a Mexican church held in both Spanish and English. A mariachi band met at the church to lead the entire wedding to the reception site several blocks away on the beach. Everyone was dancing and singing in the streets as the mariachi played. It was like a parade and people came out of the businesses and restaurants to clap and wave as we walked by. The reception itself was incredible. There were beautifully made linen tables set out on the beach, overlooking the ocean on one side and one of the nicest hotels in town on the other. The guests got to feast from an endless seafood buffet as the sun set into the ocean - the food was amazing. There was a dance floor on the beach and Cristina's uncle and cousin set the mood for the party by performing a traditional dance from Vera Cruz where much of Cristina's family is from. Then her other cousin and his wife gave a salsa dancing performance. Everyone danced and drank and had a great time. I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful wedding.

Such a beautiful couple deserved the best and it looks like they received it. I just love the DVD of the wedding. So many special traditions. It is all almost dreamlike.
